FAQ

Q. Which devices are compatible with the Global Explorer VR kit?

A. Both Google Android and Apple iOS smartphones are compatible with the Global Explorer VR kit.

The minimum software requirement is as follows:

Android:Apple

*Please note that Apple iPhones 6 and older may not support the augmented reality (AR) functions found in the app as Apple no longer supports updates for iPhone 6.
We recommend an iPhone 6S or newer to achieve full functionality.

Q. Are tablets compatible with this course?

A. Yes and No.

No: the tablet would not fit into the VR Goggles that are included in the kit, therefore, you will not be able to fully experience wearing the VR Goggles and viewing the VR experience at the same time.

Yes: you can still download the app and run the projects and see the step by step lessons in augmented reality using a tablet.

When trying to run a VR experience, with the tablet, it will be set to full screen as you are not able to fit the tablet into the VR Goggles. You can still hold the tablet and look around the room to simulate a 360 degree affect.

Q. I have downloaded the app but I have not received an email confirmation.

A. Search your spam filter in your inbox, or you can also skip the setup and download the actual app by searching the name of the VR Atlas app in the Google Play or Apple Apps Store.

Q. There is a black screen on my phone / my phone is freezing when I try to use the VR app.

Freezing can happen when there are background apps using energy. We recommend shutting down background apps.

If the problem continues, uninstall the app, and run your phone fresh without any other apps running. This will give the VR Atlas app priority to run first on your phone.

Q. How long are the VR portions of the lessons that require the use of the VR Goggles?

A. The VR experiences never last more than 90 seconds, which is enough time to give the students an immersive experience with the virtual environment.

Q. Are additional items required to complete the projects?

A. Yes, depending on the project, some additional household items are required to complete some experiments:

PLEASE NOTE: Upon signing up for specific courses, you will be able to preview all of the specific additional materials needed from this list for the course you sign up for.

Q. Can this VR kit be used for anything other than GSA lessons? (For example, other games...)

A. The VR Goggles in this kit are used as a holder for your smartphone, so yes the VR Goggles can be used for other VR experiences outside of GSA classes*.

*Please note that the VR Atlas App only contains the VR Atlas experience. Other VR games and experiences will need to be downloaded to your smartphone separately.

Q. Can we use the VR kit on PC?

A. You will need the PC to attend the VR class, however you will need a smartphone compatible with the VR Atlas app in order to experience the VR/AR.

Q. Is there make-up class in case I can’t attend one of the classes?

A. We will provide a recorded video of the lessons that you can view without making up the class.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

A. You may cancel anytime before the application deadline and you will not be charged any cancellation fee. However, if you cancel after the application deadline, you will not receive a refund.

Q. How do I sign up for the next course?

A. This is a monthly subscription group course where you will be automatically reserved for the upcoming courses. We will send you an RSVP email after your first class to notify your upcoming course reservation.
